Sue Saunders

Sue has always had a passion for the way in which written and spoken English is used.  As a Business Communication lecturer with 14 years experience teaching Communication, Computing and Accounting, Sue's tertiary teaching research programme investigated communication skills and training in the business community. The results of this research led her to establish Communication Works in 2002, a company specialising in the delivery of communication skills to corporate, educational and governmental organisations.

Organisations Sue works with value the ways in which excellent communication positively affects internal and external credibility, as well as promoting higher levels of productivity, improved profit margins and increased levels of staff morale.

Specifically, Sue works in the areas of business writing and public speaking, as well as running workshops in workplace communication, motivation, team building and customer service. 

Together with Desirée, she writes copy for websites, brochures and other marketing material.  She also project manages the development of websites, including updating websites using content management systems.

Sue is an accredited Belbin provider and is available as a corporate trainer, a consultant or a conference speaker.

In 2008, Desirée Williamson joined Communication Works. Desirée designs and facilitates workshops for business organisations on all aspects of communicating effectively with stakeholders.

Desirée believes that the clear communication of an organisation's key messages, within a sound ethical framework, builds positive relationships and goodwill with stakeholders, and enhances the organisation's image, reputation and credibility.

Her seminars use creative and innovative techniques to develop participants' oral presentation, written, interpersonal and media management skills. Her motivation is to assist management and staff to achieve tangible improvements that result in a positive workplace communication climate and build credibility in the marketplace.

Desirée lectured in communication at the School of Business at the Christchurch College of Education and the University of Canterbury from 1994-2007 and has specialist qualifications in both English as a Second Language, and public speaking.

As a professional wordsmith, Desirée has been working with the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 2006, writing study material, and designing and facilitating workshops for the Communicate Effectively and Ethics components of its Professional Competency Programme. Desiree has extensive experience teaching English for academic and professional purposes in Japan, Britain and New Zealand and is a presenter on the IPENZ (Institute of Professional Engineers) Continuing Professional Development Programme, delivering Business English for International Professionals, a new course on offer during 2011.

She also writes copy for websites, newsletters and occasionally produces a blog for Communication Works.  Desirée is available as a corporate trainer, consultant or conference speaker and is an accredited Belbin facilitator.
